On February 24, 2015 in Beijing was the meeting of the Deputy Chairman of China Communications Transport Association Mr. Wang Dêrong and the General Director of the Union of Transport of Kazakhstan “KAZLOGISTICS” Almagambetov K. E on coordination and problem-solving to increase transit between countries.
The meeting was held in Beijing in order to support the concept put forward by the Government of China on the joint creation of an economic zone of the Silk Road, the New Economic Policy “Nurly Jol”, voiced by the President of RK in his annual address to the people of Kazakhstan.
The two sides exchanged information on the results of the first meeting of representatives of the Parties, held December 15, 2014 in Astana.
The General Director Almagambetov K.E informed that on May 21-22 this year in Astana will be held the III International Transport and Logistics Business Forum “Kazakhstan — New Silk Road”. In this connection, the Kazakh side invites Chinese side and interested transport and logistics companies of China to take part in this event.
As a result of the meeting the Parties discussed the barriers to the further growth of container traffic from China to / through Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan to / through China. Particular attention was paid to the development of container traffic in the direction of China-Georgia, China — Turkey.
During the official visit to China, the General Director of STK “KAZLOGISTICS” also took part in the launching ceremony of the first international container train “Lyanyungan — Central Asia”.
It is worth noting that the joint Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the port city of Lianyungang is an initiative of the President of Kazakhstan N.A Nazarbayev. The work of transport and logistics terminal is aimed at increasing the export-import and transit potential of Kazakhstan.
